Michael Reno Harrell: Storyteller & Songsmith comes to Swannanoa!
Buncombe County’s Swannanoa Public Library branch and the Friends of the Swannanoa Library are hosting storyteller and songsmith Michael Reno Harrell Friday, Oct. 9 at Bee Tree Fire Station from 6 p.m. to 7:35 p.m. Learn more about the free event.
Harrell’s natural knack for storytelling comes as a direct result of where he is from, the Southern Appalachian Mountains, where storytelling is as much a part of the culture as its music. His original stories and songs intertwine seamlessly into narratives that demonstrate that we all share common emotions and experiences and that nothing brings us together like a good laugh or a touch of nostalgia. Michael’s stories, songs and artworks reflect not only the southern experience, but also America’s story. His work, in whichever form it may take, all comes down to one thing, a story.
When: Friday, Oct. 9, 2026
6–7:45 p.m.
Where: Bee Tree Fire Station
510 Bee Tree Rd
Swannanoa, NC 28778
The performance is free, but donations to our Friends of the Library are appreciated.
